FAQs NoDak Films first film Last Summer For Boys

(1) How many roles?
There are 45 speaking parts, some more major than others. 30 male and 15 female.

(2) Do I have to be an “actor” to audition?
NO, once we reach our fundraising goal, we will scour the state of North Dakota to find our actors. Some may define themselves as an actor and others may have no acting experience at all. The key is to find individuals who can nail a particular role.

(3) When does casting begin?
After we raise the money for our first film. As early as fall/winter 2009 or winter/spring 2010.

(4) When is filming set to start?
After the budget is met – the budget goal is 2009 so the earliest we could begin filming is summer of 2010.

(5) Are you looking for a certain age group?
Age is relative to the role. We have certain age ranges for our characters, but your age means nothing if you are perfect for a particular role.

Now throw away every concept you think you should expect.

NoDak Films is different. When you think of casting and filming don't think of a typical Hollywood movie. NoDak Films approach puts you directly in a productive role. If you think you can act, then naturally you would want to be in this film, but you can have a profound impact before casting even begins. We are trying to raise $190,000 through $100 contributions from about 1,900 North Dakotan's.

If you want to act then you want to participate. Every individual $100 contributor is offered a role as a background actor/actress (among many other great incentives).

Example: John Q. Actor wants to audition for Last Summer For Boys. He sends us an email asking about casting calls. He gets a response (see answer to question #3 from above). John Q. views the rest of the website and finds that if he has/can get a $100, then he can become a background actor in the film – no questions asked. So whether he gets a part or not during casting, John Q. will be in the film and be seen in the film. If John Q. has a few friends who also have a $100, then they all have their moment, potentially in the same scene.
